The Plowright Theatre in Scunthorpe has been home to 354 of our Asset A10 chairs for 12 years. During this time there have been around 3,360 shows (based on a minimum of 280 shows per year) meaning that up to 1,189,440 people have been entertained in total comfort and style.
The Asset A10 offers a no-compromise solution to provide cost-conscious projects with a robust, yet appealing seat. Strict attention is given to the detail and finish to ensure exceptional inbuilt quality and long-term virtually free maintenance use and this is no more evident with the quality of seating found at the Plowright.
Jason Hughes, group sales team leader, said: “Having overseen the installation of this project in 2004, it was great to be invited back in by our client and see just how well the Asset A10 chair had performed under heavy use – seating well over 1.1 million people to date.
“The Asset auditorium range is manufactured by ourselves and has an industry unrivalled lifetime warranty and FIRA test level 4 severe use accreditation.
“Our team is on hand to assist with any seating requirements no matter how small or large.”
The live venue was commissioned by the former Scunthorpe Borough Council and built by JW Taylor in 1958. It is a traditional proscenium style theatre with a 354 seat auditorium. Originally known as Scunthorpe Civic Theatre, it was renamed in the 1990s in recognition of the achievements of local actress Joan Plowright.
