Camden People’s Theatre Demountable Seating

CPS Manufacturing Co worked with architecture firm De Matos Ryan to install demountable staging into Camden People’s Theatre.

Camden’s People Theatre has been open for over 25 years and hosted a range of exceptional artists in that time.

The project included the supply and installation of a demountable seating, which included a technical desk area at the rear. The staging has been designed to allow for two configurations within the space.

The staging platforms installed were the Alu Rapid with black stained deck boards and fitted with our Rapid Lock (top lock) mechanisms to enable the staging to be built quickly and easily. The staging skirting was black stained plywood fascia panels to cove the riser voids. Steps that follow the wall profile were installed with hi-vis nosings. A technical desk was installed at the rear of the room with a fixed ladder with a self-closing auto-latching safety gate.

The platforms are bespoke shaped to fit precisely on site to fit wall-to-wall, up to the rear wall and into an alcove. The platforms were also required for fit around a column in the middle of the room. The room was surveyed using a Total Station and drawn up in CAD to enable the tiering to be plotted in and designed specifically for the room. The staging is designed to allow for two configurations within the space.
