City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra Staging

The Central Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) needed to revamp their aged demountable staging system and required a stage which could be used in many different formats as well as being height adjustable. They selected the Alu Combi system from the CPS range as the ideal platform for their needs.

The Alu Combi is a height adjustable, modular system designed to take 765kg per m2 load bearing.  The CBSO selected a waterproof, anti-slip surface on their staging system, and a total number of 60 platforms were purchased of which some were to be used for the orchestra and some to be used for tiered seating for the audience.

The stage was also equipped with heavy-duty handrails to provide more safety for those on the stage.  A full storage system was supplied along with the stage, which included 8 storage trolleys which each store 16m2 of stage on just 2m2 square storage area.
