Durham Law School Harvard Style Seating

A leading UK university – the University of Durham – recently decided to take the Harvard approach to teaching by installing a new Harvard style lecture theatre seating. This was a brand new addition to the university and was designed to be a ‘showcase’ lecture theatre. CPS supplied a solution to both the architect and client and ran the project from design through to completion.

The Vario was chosen, due to its strength and durability yet aesthetically pleasing appearance, and a total of 91 seats were installed to complete the lecture theatre.  The project created some challenges as the room was curved in shape yet not symmetrical, and the lecture theatre design also incorporated curves to match the Harvard style.
