Guildhall Bespoke Staging
Guildhall has unmistakably been the City powerhouse since the twelfth century. In an era where the Lord Mayor of London rivalled the monarch for influence and prestige, this was where he, and the ruling merchant class held court, fine-tuned the laws and trading regulations that helped create London’s significant wealth.
Today, over 800 years on, Guildhall is still home of the City of London Corporation, and acts as a grand setting for glittering banquets in honour of visiting heads of state and other dignitaries, royal occasions and receptions for major historical anniversaries.
Back in 1984 the Guildhall required a stage system that could be precisely manufactured to fit round the ecclesiastical architecture of their walls. By using a combination of our Alu Combi and Alu Rapid stage platforms, the skilled CPS team was able to design and manufacture a truly bespoke system that fitted the exact shape of the Guildhall’s walls.
The stage system was finished with matching stained surfaces and fascia’s to blend in with the existing ornate woodwork of the magnificent, medieval Great Hall where the stage was installed. This bespoke stage system was, and still is, a sympathetic addition to the largest and most impressive room of the Guildhall which reflected its fine architectural detail.
After 33 years of extensive use, we have replaced the stage with 1m x 1m Alu Rapid platforms to offer the Guildhall more flexibility to their system. The original stage platforms certainly stood the test of time to clearly define the quality and extended durability of our bespoke stage products and associated maintenance and servicing provision.
Just last month (September), over 100 Alu Rapid platforms have been professionally installed by CPS personnel. To ensure the most efficient logistics operation was carried out, a dedicated vehicle with forklift assisted our onsite team who worked into the evening on the time sensitive programme to ensure the installation was completed on time.
The platforms have been finished with high quality Karndean oak flooring and also feature the Rapid top lock system for ease of installation. The end result is a magnificent looking large stage which is situated in a stunning setting.
