University of Kent Collaborative Bench Seating

The 8,000m building for the University of Kent’s Business School and School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science was officially opened in the summer of 2017. The £26m facility has created a vibrant new campus destination which allowed two of the university’s most successful departments to expand and improve their current activities.

CPS Manufacturing Co worked closely with the architects at Penoyre & Prasad and the main contractor, Wilmott Dixon, and provided high-quality seating for three lecture theatres including a collaborative teaching and learning space.

Our collaborative bench seating system was utilised to provide an inspiring and cutting-edge space which allows students to collaborate in small groups. This relatively new layout of lecture theatre seating allows educational establishments to implement new teaching methods and concepts such as flipped learning or collaborative learning.

We have now designed, manufactured and installed a number of collaborative bench seating layouts in universities which have therefore become their flagship teaching spaces, just like this one.
