Project Description
CPS Manufacturing Co has just completed a lecture theatre seating installation at Birkbeck, University of London that was designed and delivered during successive lockdowns. CPS worked with contractor ARJ Construction.
The seating installation was part of a project to improve and extend the existing 373 Euston Road building in central London.
The project included the installation of 181 Type chairs with 3 wheelchair spaces. The Type seat is our most prestigious and high specification chair. The Type seats were upholstered in 3 colours from the Camira Mainline Plus and Mainline Flax ranges. The seating frames were polyester powder coated in RAL 9004 Signal Black ‘Satin’ and desks were laminated in Formica Fundamentals 6467 Granite Grey.
Full height modesty panels were installed at the front that also masked the front tier. CPS also provided handrails for the steps at the front of the room.
The seating layout had to be carefully coordinated with ventilation cut-outs in the floor, a window opening and angled walls.
